SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing legal research, writing, discovery and other substantive support for our insurance defense litigation attorneys. Summer Associates will receive mentoring including attending depositions, court appearances and trials/hearings. They will interact with business partners and clients. They will receive substantive feedback on assignments.
Qualifications: Completion of two years of law school just prior to beginning the Summer Associate position. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, strong legal research and writing skills and an interest in litigation. Law Review and/or Moot Court experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience and prior work experience helpful. Must have a valid-current drivers license.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
¿Substantive legal research
¿Preparation of memos, pleadings, interrogatories, motions and briefs.
¿Summarization of answers to interrogatories, depositions and records.
¿Providing support for insurance defense litigation attorneys in all aspects of their litigation
¿Interacting with attorneys, paralegals, legal secretaries and other firm personnel
¿Interacting with Claim and our other Business Partners
