SUMMARY:
Highly results oriented Information Systems Manager to assume a leadership role on the LossDB application. This position is requires both a hands-on technical resource in addition to staff management. The team is located in Hartford and offshore.
Individual needs to have a delivery focus, strong project and people management skills, solid communication skills and strong technical aptitude.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Hands-on support of design and coding on projects. Use strong technical skills, to coach team and direct development team on projects.
Build and maintain a strong relationship with business partners, along with understanding their business workflow.
Transform business specifications into cost-effective information systems applications through resource/staffing plans, prioritizes work and manages within established budget objectives. Manages projects from inception through implementation.
Responsible for all aspects of human resource management of staff.
Build relationship technical partners, including PASD, to facilitate project delivery.
Build all changes according to established standards, including appropriate controls, security and compliance.
Risk management identification and appropriate escalation

Hands-On Experience working with the following mainframe technologies:
COBOL, DB2, Procs, JCL, TSO
Familiarity working with the following distributed technologies is a plus:
SAS, Focus, SQL, QMF, Business Intelligence tools (Cognos), Teradata, MS Access
Technical Knowledge
Has thorough working knowledge of all programming disciplines and a thorough understanding of the business that the assigned systems are supporting. Uses this understanding of the business and systems environment to develop appropriate and timely solutions to daily issues. Has conceptual knowledge of varying technologies and the ability to make decisions based on that knowledge. Has thorough understanding of staff responsibilities, abilities and development needs
In addition to coaching staff, provide hands-on design and development support to projects.

Failure to achieve objectives can result in delays or inefficiencies requiring the readjustment of resources and/or staff. Responsible for important and confidential information
