Job Description
This position reports directly to the Commercial Inland Marine Vice President of Product Development and Compliance and has direct responsibility and accountability to support the development and growth of Inland Marine in the following areas:
-Product development, improvement and maintenance and all related processes.
-Develop, implement, monitor and improve the Inland Marine field performance review program and all related processes.
-Supports the training function in Inland Marine through direct training activities.
-Establish effective business relationships both within and outside the business unit.
The position¿s major responsibilities are:
-Product Management responsibilities including but not limited to:
a.Support the product development activities associated with implementation and maintenance for Inland Marine classes of business, including planning and result monitoring, research; form, rate, regulatory and filing issues; and systems integration support.
b.Assist in the development of training, marketing and communications material to support product and underwriting strategies.
c.Consult with field office management and counsel field staff on underwriting and coverage issues as required.
d.Assist in the maintenance of electronic data resources and communications.
-Underwriting Quality and Compliance: responsibilities including, but not limited to:
a.Participate in Inland Marine field performance reviews as both a lead and a team member to ensure consistent execution of the formal review in accordance with company and business unit¿s practices.
b.Assist in the development of recommendations and action plans with field office management, and verify implementation and completion of the action plans agreed upon.
c.Develop and conduct educational sessions for field office staff, concentrating on specific needs brought forth from previous reviews or the priorities determined by field and home office management.
d.Monitor implementation of underwriting quality and control standards as defined in the Inland Marine field performance and self-assessment guidelines.
e.Ongoing review and monitoring of regulatory and legal compliance related activities.
f.SOX compliance certifier
-Teamwork and Relationship Building including, but not limited to:
a.Establishes strong coalitions and networks with other home office departments, business groups and business unit support areas on Inland Marine product and underwriting issues.
b.Effectively builds relationships and works with all levels.
Experience :
-Minimum of 3 years field or home office underwriting and sales experience (Inland Marine preferred).
-Very high level of verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
-Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Occasional travel may be required anywhere within the U.S.
