At Travelers within Business Insurance Information Technology (BI-IT), we have created an internship program that is unique in our industry. Travelers BI-IT Technical Development Program (TechDP) Internships enable individuals to use their talents, gain exposure to different areas within the division, and learn by doing real work in a highly technical business environment. BI-IT TechDP internships provide the opportunity to formally integrate academic knowledge with real-life experience, and explore career interests through productive and exciting work assignments.
The Travelers BI-IT Summer Internship Program typically runs for 10 to 12 weeks, beginning in late May and ending in early-August. Internships often are available in the following disciplines:
- Software Testing & Quality Assurance
- Application Development
- Database Management
- IT Architecture
- Operational and Production Support
- Business Analysis
Participants should be participating in an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer or electrical engineering, information technology, management information systems or mathematics with a minor in information technology. A minor in business administration is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
> Passion for technology and business
> Preferred GPA of 3.0 or greater
> Completion of 30-45 semester hours
> Motivation to succeed
> Strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills
> Extracurricular involvement
> Legally eligible to work in the United States
