SUMMARY:
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Primary role is to be a member of a team that provides production support to a family of web-based real-time applications in support of Personal Lines Insurance.
Experience Required:
Expert knowledge of Java, J2EE, SQL
Knowledge of COBOL, DB2, MQ, and CICS required.
Working knowledge of Endevor, CA7, UCC, RACF, JCL, IMS, and EOS.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent analysis skills.
Ability to learn how to use several different web based applications quickly.
Strong communication skills - ability to represent our area on production outage calls.
Distributed experience (VB, C++, Interdev,VB.Net, ASP.Net) desired but not critical.
Some knowledge of web based architecture would be helpful.
Familiarity with Personal Lines Insurance would be a plus.

While this position is an individual contributor role, it will require strong interpersonal skills working with other teams to determine the cause and best solution for problems. The person filling this role will be expected to identify opportunities to improve both the efficiency of our systems, and the processes we use to resolve problems. The ability to communicate clearly in written form is important as it is difficult to explain the technical problems and resulting solutions to management and users in terms they can understand. The ideal candidate will be a goal oriented person, who takes pride and pleasure in resolving problems almost on a daily basis. Demonstrated experience in this type of work is a requirement
