SUMMARY:
In this position you will be responsible for the day-to-day work of professional/technical staff and serve as project manager for all OLAP initiatives with broad impact to division and company results.  Business Insurance Finance areas are your primary customers with expectations of providing viable business solutions in a streamlined approach to managing information.

This position is an IT-Finance role with IT skills in development and project management along with a Finance discipline to promote data accuracy and balancing controls.

As the lead Administrator for the Cognos TM1 application, you will model business unit partnerships for in-house staff and manage a Global Outsourcing Team, ensuring exceptional service levels are met on the development and support of the TM1 reporting application.  Your technical OLAP experience combined with your strong project leadership, management and people skills are needed to continually improve reporting tools and produce robust, high quality financial and management information.

As part of the Shared Finance Data and Infrastructure team, you will be part of a fast-paced, challenging work environment where strategic development and tactical solutions are integral to effectively supporting all markets within Business Insurance.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
This position's principal responsibility is to ensure an accurate, controlled, and secured data environment to enhance our internal business customers' ability to report on a wide variety of information needed to make the daily decisions that drive growth and profitability in the insurance market.   Our Data and Infrastructure team is continually improving how data is utilized, modeled, and presented to senior management with an emphasis on upgrading the use of Cognos TM1, Business Intelligence tools and other data sources.

During the execution of your technical responsibilities, you are accountable for all aspects of the project development life cycle and engineering complex integrative processes.  Lead a team of Business Analysts and Application Modelers to develop functional and data requirements for initiatives and support for new and existing projects including communication, rollout and training.  Implementing industry best practices are key to governing data standards and data consistencies.

As the Technical Lead for the Planning & Forecasting cycles, you often work closely with business customers, peers within Financial Reporting and other Information Technology areas.  Your strong communication skills will be valued as you participate in design meetings, business reviews, testing phases and post-production issue resolution.  Communication is also important to ensure the completion of ad hoc requests with abbreviated deadlines. 

You will be expected to work independently with limited technical guidance, even on the more complex assignments, and you will often be managing more than one deliverable at a time with competing priorities.  You are expected to continually upgrade your technical and management competencies as new tools, expectations, and staff challenges are presented.

Engage with other shared areas in driving the strategic direction of Business Insurance Finance and Middle Market Shared Finance resource planning around Data Management, Information Delivery and Analytics.

COMPETENCIES:
- BS or BA degree required; business or technology concentration.
- Minimum of seven years managing projects and people successfully.
- Proven record of accomplishments on a wide array of corporate-wide projects and/or initiatives.
- Expert knowledge of OLAP Development, ETL Tools, Business Intelligence tools.
- Experience with metadata, data management methodology and products.
- Your ability to use advanced technologies to customize the look and function of each reporting application to exceed customer expectations is a critical success factor. 
- Strong relational database skills, specifically understanding SQL queries and core database structures.
- Experience extracting data from a range of sources, including DB2, SQL Server, Teradata, FOCUS, PeopleSoft, flat files.
